with secrecy, tammy david prepared this cake for the "september born" party scheduled at the oarhouse on 30 september 2006. but the destructive super typhoon 'milenyo' cut powerlines and so the party was postponed. however, a group of 'renegade' PCP members held a mini party at the newsdesk cafe in quezon city where this cake was devoured along with malt and soda drinks and fresh tuna inihaw. for the postponed "september born" party at the oarhouse, tammy promised to bring cupcakes. happy birthday to all!

“Pagtutulungan: Enhancing EC-RP Development and Economic Co-operation”

1. Who may join: The competition is open to all Filipino photojournalists and photo enthusiasts except for officers and staff of organisations and institutions co-implementing the projects and programmes of the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines or projects and programmes supported by the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines.

2. Coverage/Theme: Entries must cover the various development and economic co-operation programmes of the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines. Entries should adhere to the theme “Pagtutulungan: Enhancing EC-RP Development Co-operation”. Events highlighting the celebrations of the Europe Month 2005 in May 2005 in Manila and Cebu City are also covered under this competition.

3. Entries should be taken with any camera using at least 135 mm film and/or digital camera with at least three (3) mega pixel sizes.

4. A maximum of ten (10) entries in 5” x 7” prints with border (whether taken with 135 mm film or digital camera) can be submitted by a participant. Winning photographs will be required to submit negatives and/or raw digital files.

5. Contestants must attach an entry form listing the following to each of the entries:

Email Address.

A certificate attesting that the photograph is taken by the participant and duly signed by the participant must also be attached to each of the entries. The filled-up entry form/s must be sealed in an envelope together with each entry. Only the photo title must appear outside the envelope.

6. Photographs should be taken between 1 September 2004 to 30 September 2005. Published and unpublished photographs maybe submitted to the competition.

7. The Board of Judges will be composed of respected photojournalists/artists as well as officials from the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines, The Philippine Center for Photojournalism, Inc. and Canon.

8. Criteria for Judging – Technical Excellence – 25%; Relevance to the Theme – 50% and Visual Perception and Creativity – 25%.

9. All entries must be submitted on or before 12 noon on 30 September 2005 or must be postmarked on 27 September 2005 to either of the following:

10. The copyright to the photographs entered to the competition is to be shared between the photographer and the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines. However, it is understood that the Delegation shall have the right to use the photographs in all its publications with no additional costs to the photographer and to his/her institution or organisation if warranted.

11. Awarding of prizes will coincide with the opening of the exhibit of winning and outstanding entries on 19 October 2005 at The Podium, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

12. The winners will each receive a trophy and the PRIZES are as follows:

First Prize: EOS 35OD (Digital Camera)
Second Prize: Powershot G5 (Digital Camera)
Third Prize: Powershot A510 (Digital Camera)
(Two) Honorable Mentions: Pixma IP 3000 (Printers)
(Five) Special Prizes: Pixma IP1000 (Printers)

In addition, all winners will receive SPECIAL PRIZES from the European Commission.

13. Prizes not claimed within 30 days after the awarding ceremony shall be forfeited.
